Open Date

It was a pretty uneventful weekend, with trip to Sam's Club in Pearl to get supplies and a large quantity for chocolate chips for cookies. I make three batches of cookies for the boys before home games. It was a whole lot easier when it was only 29 of them!

When the guys go in the field house today, they will finally find --- game pictures! We have a wall designated just for them with team pictures and team rules. Since I take photos for The Star-Herald, I might as well share.

We might have beat Noxapater on Friday night but the large red "N" in the middle of the field was no match for our white game pants! Some of the pants are now a lovely shade of pink. We have soaked them. Used Oxiclean and White Bright to get them clean. Although you aren't suppose to use bleach on the pants, we finally decided it was the only option left. Well see...

No game this week for the Tigers and I can't wait for Friday because we are leaving to Gulf Shores. Don't worry, I am sure there will be some football talk -- Coach Wood and family are going too. We just hope to relax!

W for the Tigers!

We beat Noxapater 14-6 in our first District game of the season. Everyone loves a winner.

#77 was back in action! Senior Dustin Wood was back playing tonight after when found out that his shoulder was just strained and nothing was torn.

We finally found some offensive rhythm and got over a case of fumblitis and the defense played well. Paul even got interviewed live on the airwaves by Breezy 101.

IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT TO BE A TIGER!

Impressive!

If you haven't seen the old scoreboard, then you won't understand how awesome this one is. It took a lot of hard work to get it up. Mr. B got down in an 8-ft. deep hole to set concrete before the polls were put it. Mr. B is the man!

Friends from another life

Our friends from Pontotoc, came for a visit when we played Pisgah. We were glad they came. It's always good to see "good folks." I miss my gang of coach's wives. I remember the first year @ Ethel I cried all the way to the East Webster scrimmage because I missed my coaching family. There were @ least six coach's wives. These are some former players of Paul's spanning all most the entire 10 years he was there.

Coins with a Message

A friend of mine told me about a coin her son had received with a baseball player on one side and the message "With God All Things Are Possible."
So we began the search for a football coin and quickly found it. The football players received their coins after devotion this morning. This way they will always have a little "Jesus" in their pocket. We all need that.

Good message from a good friend!

Our friend, Martin Rodgers, sent us a message tonight. He worked with Paul @ South Pontotoc.

He wrote: Good luck to EHS boys, coaches, managers, staff, families, and community. God bless my friends, Paul and Leslie Dees. Will be thinking of you tomorrow night.

Becoming Better

When Paul and I moved here in 07, we knew there was a reason -- God had a plan but we didn't understand it just yet. Then we got to Ethel and immediately knew it was not all about winning football games but helping these guys become better in life. However, we will take a win any time we can. :) Paul started Friday morning devotions/breakfast for the team.

The head man!

This is the 2007 Season. That's Jamarious Beck on the left. He is at Holmes Community College playing offensive lineman. Joe Fox on the right.
Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm

Football program

The annual EHS football program has become my baby since 2007. We will have them for the Sept. 11 game against Edinburg. The seniors were very excited about their cover! They said they looked like a 5A team. About 6 of them have played since Paul and I came to Ethel and they have become special to us!

Week 1

Week 1 foe Pisgah was too much for the EHS tigers and we are now 0-1 on the season. There were some bright spots as two ninth graders made excellent plays! Hopefully the guys will pull it together for our first division game, Noxapater on Friday!

Football Frenzy

It's the craziest of times at the Dees household -- Football Season. We started off a week early with a scrimmage against Eupora, bbq fundraiser and picture day all rolled into one on Aug. 14.
While we have no children of our own yet, we currently have about 40 high school aged boys that we are very proud of.
